There are many private driving instructors available in Singapore. In general, they charge you anywhere between $50 to $70 for enrolment into a driving school because you’ll still need to open an account and go through a driving school for your tests.

While lesson fee varies from instructor to instructor, a private driving instructor would generally charge you about $38 to $45 per hour. Lessons are self-paced but because each lesson is only an hour, you may need to complete about 15 to 20 lessons before you can take the driving test. The number of lessons you must run the driving school's test circuit, however, is determined by your skill level. As a private learner, you may not have as many chances to practise on the driving school's test circuit, so we suggest scheduling a few driving lessons on the driving school's test circuit well before your actual test. The lessons are generally easier to schedule, just have to confirm with the instructor one week in advance.

With a private driving instructor, you can use the same car for all of your lessons and the final practical driving test. Consistent driving instruction in the same vehicle assists learner in developing confidence in their driving abilities.
